In Lieu of Twitter
I don’t Facebook, and I don’t tweet. Nor am I entirely sure whether “Facebook” is already a verb. I’m happy to explain why I’m not a fan of these newfangled social networking devices in another post, but for the moment, I’m tweeting by blog. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, head to wikipedia for the “Twitter” entry.) I don’t have anything to tell you, because Dave and I are both ON VACATION! As much as we love vacationing with our family and friends in distant locales, it’s quite luxurious to be sitting in the living room at 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday with no agenda. There’s laundry in the washing machine, but there’s nothing in there we need for the next couple of days. The dishes are done, the floor is swept, the Christmas stuff is all taken care of, and we’re just lying around.
We got up at 9:30 a.m. or so, when the sun started to shine in our eyes. Our weather prediction has taken a turn toward the usual, for Boulder—Christmas day will be about 50°. I made scrambled eggs and toast and Dave turned on his video game du jour, Final Fantasy XII. Then he gamed while I puttered, hanging up Christmas cards and sticking the baby snapshots that arrived with the cards into an album. I imagine that we’ll head out for coffee and maybe a movie in a while, but I’m not in a hurry. We’re on vacation!
