At the Hazeltons’
After a really nice visit with Dave’s grandparents, aunt, and uncle, we drove to Sagamore Hills to spend some time with my parents and brothers. We arrived in time for dinner on Friday (vegetable soup) and spent the evening with my parents. In the morning, Phoebe got to read a book with Grandma.
My brothers and sisters-in-law arrived that morning to spend Christmas Eve day with us, so we decided to open presents since we were all together.
We all went to Mom’s church for Christmas Eve worship. My high school friend Bill joined us; I hadn’t seen him in several years, so it was fun to reconnect. Phoebe was just excellent during church, making us look like good parents! When we got home, Phoebe sat down for a snack of leftover pizza and oranges.
Here are two nice photos of the Gribble family, dressed in our Christmas Eve best!
On Christmas Day, we ate the yummy breakfast my dad traditionally cooks. Nathaniel and Laura had gone home the night before, and Matt and Erin were ready to take off. Dad, Dave, Phoebe and I went back to church (it was Sunday). Phoebe ate half a bottle of puffs and then got really, really mad when we tried to close the bottle. She had to be taken out, screaming, and we could still hear her for several minutes. We had already opened our presents, so we opened our stockings and played with Phoebe the rest of the day. On the morning of Boxing Day, we went over to the playground across the street from Mom and Dad’s house.
After the playground, we went over to Aunt Nancy and Aunt Shirlie’s house for a Hazelton/Baskey Christmas celebration. Phoebe ate five helpings of lasagna, plus some cinnamon buns and salad.
Next, we head to Pittsburgh.
