Haircut and First Day of School
Benjamin had become a shaggy dog, and there was no way I was letting Dave trim his curly hair. We had to cancel our first try at a haircut because he had hand, foot, and mouth disease, but he was better by last weekend. The beautician at the kid’s haircut place asked if I wanted it longish or a standard boys’ cut, so of course I chose longish, hoping to keep some curls. Look what happened!
September 1
When you leave an almost-2-year-old in the front room for a while and then realize you haven’t heard anything in several minutes, you rush over. This time, I found him sucking on paintbrushes!

Benjamin is learning to stand and walk! He’s taken a few toddling steps several times in the past week or so, and he’s just started to stand up in the middle of the room. Sometimes he makes it all the way up!
September 2 was Phoebe’s first official day of pre-kindergarten! She’s so excited to be in Miss Bertha’s class. She and her friends are now the seniors of daycare.
