Gribblog for Sale; Maybe!
Editor’s Note: I thought this was published a long time ago (back in March), but apparently not. Enjoy!
This morning a typo resulted in a bunch of search engine results for the value of our beloved blog’s URL (gribblog.com). I also discovered that in addition to some website from Russia (it’s an artist I think; it’s in Russian) there are some other people with “gribblogs” as a part of their site. So I guess it makes sense that there’s some value, but what is it?
Maybe you’d like the value estimate from Domainyoda (http://www.domainyoda.com/www/gribblog.com#.UxjBcIWmXwk) of $1,055,183. I know I sure do. Interestingly, Domainyoda is touted as being a product from Domainvader. So Vader owns Yoda; does George Lucas know about this?
Or maybe you think URLMetrics has it right (http://urlm.co/www.gribblog.com) at $649.85.
Or maybe those all seem too high and you prefer the $53.45 estimate from URLAppraisal.net (http://www.urlappraisal.net/appraisal/gribblog.com.html).
Well, after this exercise, I still have no idea what the Gribblog’s URL is really worth, but I think I can explain Facebook overpaying for Instagram. So, Mark, if you’re reading this, the Gribblog is definitely for sale. First offer of $5MM wins.
