Half of March
Saturday, March 8, we went to Wow for Isabelle J.’s birthday party. Isabelle is one of Phoebe’s group of good friends, which includes Calae, Kylie, and a love/hate relationship with Fritz. The big kids all love Wow, and Benjamin had a great time too.
On the way home from Wow, Benjamin threw his glasses out the side of the stroller, which I didn’t realize until we got home. Phoebe and I had walked a mile home, and we had to turn around and walk all the way back. She was a trooper! Fortunately, Dave found the glasses in a shadow about 3 doors down from our house. On Sunday, Phoebe left her bear coat and her lion in the bagel shop (not that she remembered that), and we had a bit of a panic when they turned up missing. But both were found. Whew!
We did see this interesting illustration of the power of both the sun and shadows on our walk home from the museum:
March 9, Phoebe spent some time playing with the soldiers and chariots she got from Ben and Sam Nielsen.
March 12. If it’s too cold to camp, use your imagination!
On Thursday, March 13, Benjamin fell off the toy chest at school and bit deeply into his bottom lip. Miss Marsha thought he bit through the lip, but the doctor thought that he probably hit the outside on the corner of something, knocking his lip into his teeth and making the cut on the skin above his chin. He didn’t seem to be in much pain, and he didn’t need stitches or glue.
Phoebe is obsessed with putting on ballerina shows. She also wants us to do ballet and/or be the ballet teacher. Here she is on Saturday, March 15. She and I went “girls clothes shopping” for her birthday and picked up another cheap pair of sunglasses to keep at school, plus a bunch of new outfits. That evening, we went to Ben and Christina’s to celebrate March birthdays with them, Jehanne, Elijah, and Ben’s friends Rob and Ann.
